This month’s spotlight is one of our newer ECS – April (pictured here with her family)!
While she has only been with NTECC since December, she has been working in emergency dispatch for the last 26 years! She has worked in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas (mainly Collin County) and she has also been teaching dispatch-related courses since 2006. Her job titles have ranged from Dispatcher and Trainer, to Supervisor, Manager, and even Information Systems Analyst!
The three words she uses to describe NTECC are “nimble, rewarding, and BeeYOUtiful.” She explains that employees have to be agile and adaptable, that NTECC rewards employees for exceeding expectations, and that NTECC welcomes and appreciates a diverse culture.
For prospective candidates, she says, “Listen and learn. It can be overwhelming in the beginning as it is an incredible amount of information to process. One day the questions will not be difficult to recall, and you will have the ah-ha moment where the ‘why’ makes sense.”
In the next 10 years, she “aspires to hold a management position within the organization.”
